Rumble Strips

What if the very thing we keep searching for is already living inside of us? This message wraps up a series on discovering God's will, and it does so by holding up a mirror to some of the most common ways we drift off course in our faith walk.

Using the vivid image of rumble strips on a highway, we are invited to examine three spiritual warning signs: looking for signs instead of connecting with the Savior, overanalyzing God's will to the point of paralysis, and dressing up delay as prayer when it is really just disobedience.

The crowd in John chapter 6 serves as a striking backdrop here. Having just witnessed one of the greatest miracles in Scripture, where Jesus multiplied a boy's lunch to feed thousands, they immediately turned around and asked for another sign. It is a moment that feels uncomfortably familiar. How often do we stand in the middle of God's provision and still ask him to prove himself again?

The message challenges us to recognize that unlike the people of the Old Testament, we carry the Holy Spirit within us. We do not need a fleece or a blood moon or a parking spot to confirm God's direction. We have direct access to the Savior himself, and that changes everything.
